Purpose of the Position: The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for all field sales functions of Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics (OMD) products within an assigned region of the U.S. market. This position will also be responsible for the installation of the OMD system and customer training as well as continued customer service as it relates to this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Achieve sales targets of the OMD product lines
- Effective territory and time management to maximize productivity.
- Initial installation of the OMD system
- Training and initial technical support for products sold
- Provide regular feedback to the marketing department as received from customers
- Provide input to marketing for new product requirements
- Work closely with the marketing department to achieve marketing and sales objectives.
- Assist in managing the recruitment and maintenance of Key Opinion Leaders within sales territory
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Regional Sales Manager will manage all aspects of his/her assigned territory.

- Molecular Diagnostics sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Very good time management and territory management knowledge
- Minimum travel no less than 50%
- Successful track record of having achieved sales goals on a consistent basis
Education and Experience: Minimum of five years of successful sales experience of molecular diagnostics and/or clinical diagnostics in the clinical laboratory field. BS in a laboratory sciences or molecular biology or life sciences desired or equivalent career experience .
Language Skills: Must be proficient in writing, and communicating in the English language.
Mathematical Skills: Must be consistent with BS or BA level education
Reasoning Ability: Good problem solving, judgment and decision making skill are required.

Work entails regularly performing tasks while working at a computer, desk, laboratory bench or automated machine. Work may involve occasional climbing or balance. Work entails occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Work occasionally requires travel between buildings. This is typically completed by foot or by car.

This position will involve a combination of Corporate office, medical office and biotechnology laboratory environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, blood Bourne pathogens, automated equipment, and high levels of noise and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
