Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for the cost accounting function and for maintaining cost accounting records. This individual will perform analysis of all the cost components of manufacturing including; standard costs; labor, overhead and routing variances; and labor and overhead absorption. In addition, this position is responsible for standard cost rolls and revisions, physical inventories (including cycle count verifications) and inventories adjustments. Financial management may require assistance in other areas within the department such as special projects and cross-training for other accounting responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
· Monitor inventory transactions on a weekly basis.
· Perform system transactional analysis to the bill of material and router levels.
· Analyze and report transactions creating labor, overhead and routing variances.
· Coordinate annual standard cost rolls across all work centers.
· Review/perform inventory account reconciliations.
· Coordinate & audit physical inventories/cycle counts.
· Coordinate physical inventories of fixed assets.
· Timely reporting of Business unit/corporate requests.
· Support management with other cost-related financial requests.
· Prepare the departmental budget process for ATS and Mairoll.
· General ledger posting.

Education and Experience:
BBA or BS in Accounting or Finance. 3 or more years Cost experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is necessary. Exposure to automated accounting software packages is a must, and knowledge of QAD Mfg-Pro ERP platform would be highly desirable as is relevant experience in the life sciences or another regulated industry.
Language Skills:
Must be proficient in writing and communicating in the English language. Ability to read, write and analyze the most complex documents is required. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints is required, as is the ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to employees, top management and public groups. Ability to communicative effective both orally and in writing with superiors, peers and individuals within and outside the company. Ability to work effectively, exhibit a professional manner and establish constructive working relationships.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be consistent with a college level education
Reasoning Ability:
Good problem solving, judgment and decision making skill are required.

This position will involve a combination of office and biotechnology laboratory environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to,automated equipment, and high levels of noise and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. |
